What is an adventure holiday? Adventures come in all shapes and sizes, from an African safari that sees you face to face with lions and tigers whilst watching herds of wildebeest pound by on their annual migration. Or it may mean trekking through thick jungle somewhere in South America, or even taking a ship to the polar regions. There seems not an inch of the planet not available to us, and if exploration is adventure, fetch your suitcase and pith helmet – we’re on a mission!

For some people the idea of relaxing on a paradise beach doing as little as possible for two weeks is not a holiday. To them, cascading down white water rapids with the wind in their hair and the spray in their face is the trip of a lifetime, a chance to escape and unwind, and an adventure holiday to remember for a long time. Though rarely for the faint-hearted, there are many types of adventure holidays available, aimed at anyone from kids to would-be Indiana Jones!
